Car Share Service

Following cessation of the no. 56 bus route through Baughurst, Wolverton and Ramsdell (with effect from 17 April 2010) a new car share service has been commissioned by Hampshire County Council.

The new service operates from 19 April 2010 and is similar to a bus service, except that it will be operated with a private hire taxi and passengers must pre-book their journey.

It will pick up at bus stops in the area of Stony Heath, Pound Green, Baughurst (church), West Heath, Ramsdell, Charter Alley, Monk Sherborne and Sherborne St. John and take passengers to the North Hampshire Hospital or Basingstoke railway station. The service will run to the following timetable, but please note that only pre-booked points will be served so the route taken in the villages is at the discretion of the driver.

Initially passengers should register for the service with Hampshire County Council by calling 01962 846786. Registration is free and you'll be sent membership information including details of the telephone number for bookings.

Helping Hands Charity Shop

Registered charity No. 1126381, the aim of Helping Hands on Franklin Avenue in Tadley is to promote and support any charitable purposes which benefit the community through clubs and organisations in Tadley and the surrounding area.

It does this by giving out grants to support specific projects and by supplying items from stock when this is more appropriate.

The charity is happy to accept donations for sale within the shop and also accept requests for grants from local organisations.

It has already given out over £13,000 in grants to local organisations and they are always looking for more suitable local projects to give money to.

The charity has 6 trustees, ably assisted by the shop manageress Caroline Hall.
