Who to Contact for Local Issues
Sometimes you may notice something in your local area that needs attention – like a pothole in the road, a broken streetlight, missed bin collections, or concerns about planning or local facilities. Knowing who to contact can save you time and help get the issue resolved more quickly.
Different councils are responsible for helping with different issues:
Parish Council – deals with local amenities like play areas, bus shelters, and allotments, and often acts as a voice for residents on local issues.
Borough Council – responsible for things like rubbish collection, planning applications, housing, and environmental health.
County Council – covers broader services like roads and highways, schools, social care, and libraries.
Please see the above chart showing who is responsible for what.
