Walk 14

Walk 14: Round the Hill (Original walk information from 1977)

Start map reference:

From the War Memorial take the Brimpton Road as far as Bridleway No. 5, the turning on the left past Heathrow Copse.  Turn left (signpost) to Inhurst Lane.

At Inhurst Lane turn right and in 50 m turn left into Footpath No. 9 (signpost at Hillberry).  Bear right of shed, parallel to fence on right, over stile, with pond on right, go through wicket gate and straight ahead, parallel to stream on right, through pine copse to corner of meadow.

Turn right, over stile (not footbridge) on Footpath No. 7, bear right and left diagonally up slope across meadow and over two stiIes.  Bear slightly left and along narrow track with fence on right to stile at Haughurst Hill.

Turn right past Chapel and in 50 m bear left into woodland track - Footpath No. 147 (signpost).  With cottage on right follow track to metalled road at junction with Haughurst Hill, turn right to next junction.

Either turn left past Highworth Cottages to Brimpton Road and continue to War Memorial;

or continue on Inhurst Lane and return to War Memorial via Bridleway No. 5.
